Jun 16 Los Angeles Summer Stylin'

Hi fellow Shoe Laaaavers! It’s me, Talia! I am currently a stylist at 7 For All Mankind, and also one of Tina’s fabulous interns.

If you are a Los Angeles native, like myself, it is apparent that Summer has made a hot appearance. I’ve seen trends come and go already but there are pieces that have gone from a Summer must have to a year round essential.

I must say that daytime events are especially difficult to wardrobe because dress code standards are liberal these days. There are no set rules. The only rule is that any shoes goes as long as you feel confident wearing them. If you go to a club, you know you’ve got to throw on some heels, if you go to the beach, you strap on those sandals. But if you go to a beach bar, what is appropriate? I’ve seen women in converse, heels, wedges, and sandals; even boots all during the day at the same event.

Two weeks ago, my close friends and I decided to hit up a local hot spot in Santa Monica on a Sunday afternoon to celebrate our college graduations. I saw a variety of style, from beach bums and fun buns to sophisticated sluts with melting makeup and summer stunnas who ace the game. Mingling in the sunlight is a completely different atmosphere than pitch black bars with neon lights. The best way to judge what kind of shoes to wear is by deciding what kind of look you are channeling, and dressing from the bottom up is quick way to throw on outfits together without spending a fortune on a whole new wardrobe. On top of that, I’ve always believed that confidence is what makes an outfit legendary so I have added some of the best shoes I think are out there for the different styles I've been seeing around..
