#STUDS :: Nike Sky Hi x Ivanka Trump
For today's #SQshoeSwap I had to make an easy switch from running around all day visiting my freelance clients to a private rooftop event I was invited to that night at the swanky London hotel (which I LOVE!) for Rachel Zoe.
I paired a very delicate, soft top with some quirky jeans because I love fusing opposites. This way both heels and sneakers will always work! Plus, on this particular day it was really hot, but the nights are chilly.
My sneakers are the Nike Dunk Sky Hi - "Stud." Of all the sneaker wedges out there, this style is one of my favorites and definitely the most comfortable, but this studded version is a good way to wear every day black. The gold is a simple detail but just amount of pop to avoid boring. Check out the details in the photos below, the ridged laces and all!
Later on for the event I switched into a pair of my most trusted heels, the Ayla by Ivanka Trump. Ivanka's line is built for the working woman that wants to wear her heels all day in the corporate world, so comfort is a must in all her shoes. So the comfort is there and the price points are excellently low, but sometimes the designs are dull in her overall lines for the brand. BUT- there are gems everywhere, I am obsessed with finding them, and this is definitely a gem!! I personally believe the inspiration for these shoes came from the extremely popular Valentino Rockstud (see here) which are gorgeous. I am so happy the inspiration was used for a new design rather than ripping them off completely. Overall, again, the comfort is 100%:
- Rounded peep toe so your toes aren't scrunched.
- Double ankle strap to keep you tight, plus the double strap adds nice detail to the eye.
- Heel height is not too high, but looks high.
- 100% leather, both upper AND LINING! (So important for comfort.)
I get complimented all the time and most of the time people actually think they are Valentino, which makes me throw my head back in amusement, close my eyes, form a big grin on my face, and think in my head "MUAHAHAHAH!!! THEY ARE SO NOT!!" Lol, the simple pleasures in life for me... haha.
So, I switched my heels for the event and it worked perfectly. These heels are truly a must buy in any of the colors. They are from last season, but here is the link for some pairs on ebay.
