November '13 Shoe Lover :: DJ Brandi Garcia
Many years back I was so inspired by this photo I randomly saw of this girl hanging on a basketball hoop and I never forgot about it. What a cool way to display your shoes! So when I decided to start doing a photoshoot series with amazing females that truly rock out their heels and kicks, I knew Brandi would kill it. Especially since she is a big sports fan and can shoot some hoops herself. I am obsessed with this shoot!
I met Brandi through one of my best friends, Wells (aka the #Boss), at an event she was DJing probably about a year ago. After we first met I started to listen to Brandi's radio show on 93.5 Kday and was feeling her music style. For months after we would keep bumping into each other at numerous events and I fell in love with her charm and her skills on the decks. You know those times when you're at a club and the DJ keeps playing song after song of epic hits you absolutely love but haven't heard in forever and it hits a chord with you inside and you're just thinking (or yelling) "helllll yessssss" and have the craziest feeling like "now I am satisfied" with each song that plays? Yea well that's me when Brandi is spinning. Lol.
*Get to know Brandi a little better, check out a fun little interview we did, speaking on a ton of random and fun subjects. Bottom of the page or on my YouTube channel here.*
Brandi's gold sparkle heels and gold Nike Dunk shoe change both go so well with her ensemble. Easiest change completely transforms her outfit. THIS is what I love about shoes. Exactly this right here. The instant transformation.
This was such a powerful photoshoot. I love the mix of feminine quality at such a male oriented location. And Brandi killed it! Case in point, the photos below. Yoooooo!!!! Brandi swooshing that hoop in her heels!!! WHATTTTT!!!! <3 <3 <3!
This was my first time directing a photo shoot and I really loved it. I've always been the type of person that has too many ideas in my head with too little time, so I'm really glad I'm making time to experiment with one of them! I'm pumped to do more shoots with awesome females and get more and more creative with it. Plus, I was able to get a great team together to make it all happen (thank you team!!).
