February '14 Shoe Lover :: Alisse Marie @Kicks0l0gy
Meet Alisse, aka @Kicks0l0gy (with zero's!). I met Alisse originally through social media and then finally met her in person at a Sneaker Pimps event in Hollywood about a year and a half ago. Since then I have bumped into the sneakerhead at many other events and have gotten to know the woman behind @Kicks0l0gy.
On Instagram and Twitter, Alisse speaks her mind on sneakers like she sees it and a lot of her followers like to join in on the fun with their opinions, so it can get exciting or heated at times. Dealing with that kind of stuff all the time, one must stay strong and tough which is why I wanted to feature Alisse as my February Shoe Lover. Beyond having a large sneaker collection she prides herself in (mostly Jordan and Nike), Alisse also loves to slip into some heels every now and then (yea!!). Her shy energy is endearing when you meet her and she's fun to get to know :)
So I thought these super dope "transformers" would be a great back drop for her shoot. A giant, angry, serious looking, robotic monster, and then smiling little 'ol Alisse! Haha, doesn't that say so much? It reminded me of how people can be a bit rude when behind a computer, but then just keeping yourself positive and moving along like she does so well. The two parts came together great, and Alisse's outfit totally complimented it all.
Now to the shoes...!!!
Alisse is wearing a pair of Air Jordan 13 Low's (Navy/Metallic Silver/Carolina Blue color way) from 1998 that she says she wears most often and loves because she can wear them with anything. The match up with the leather dress, bad-ass burgundy hair, and spiked jewelry really took both the shoes and the outfit to a powerful but fun level!
For her switch to heels, Alisse put on a pair of jeweled, multi-colored, Steve Madden pumps "because they are loud!" Totally are. They're lively and go nice with the pleating in her dress.
These photos are so hardcore! This one is my favorite below. So striking and beautiful.
BAM! What a babe! The switch up from her kicks to heels came out so nicely! I love how it dresses up her cute daily style in a casual way. I would definitely try this shoe swap myself with a black dress :)
Had a great time with this shoot, and loved working with my team! The transformers were really fun too, even though I was so scared Alisse would fall off the ledge! Lol. In the end we all enjoyed the process and I personally learned more about directing these shoots which is great!
