“What made you start your blog ShoeQUEENDOM?”
I was contributing to a mens sneaker blog for about a year when I realized my outlook on both sneakers and heels for ladies were being overlooked. There is something about the bridge between the two that is so awesome. The fact that we ladies have the ability to switch from one to the other and still look and feel sexy is what I wanted to get across. Additionally, I have design experience, product knowledge, and an eye for detail to back up all of my advise/opinions.
“Why do you like wearing sneakers?”
Yes, comfort is a big reason, but also to be able to wear such a masculine product in a feminine way is fun! It gets me excited to style it in a sexy, cute way all while still being very feminine.
“Would you consider yourself a sneakerhead?”
No, I wouldn’t consider myself a sneakerhead because I don’t focus solely on sneakers and I don’t keep up with every single release. I more so look for innovative sneaker styles from both new and old brands that get me excited. Therefore, I consider myself a shoe lover :)
“What is a ‘Sneakerhead’?”
“How do you like to rock sneakers and what are some tips you’d give to females who may be hesitant or don’t know where to start?”
In my eyes, opposites attract. So when I wear sneakers I make sure to pair them with at least one feminine clothing piece. It could be as simple as wearing a soft color, showing some leg with a skirt, or even the cut and lines of your top. (Vise versa with heels, I love to wear masculine inspired clothing with them, like ripped jeans, a hoodie, or even a baggy shirt.)
The absolute BEST TIP I could give to any female is to wear lipstick! It automatically makes any sneaker ensemble super feminine. My favorite and go to right now is Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick. I have two colors, Beso and Patina. They’re amazing! It truly does stay on, and gives you this matte finish that looks luscious. So I definitely make sure to have it on on days when I am running around LA in my kicks working!

Who are your fashion icons and how would you describe your own personal style?
My fashion icon is Gwen Stefani. She consistently uses color blocking to highlight her features and she is such an individual with her style, music, and career which I love. She translates a lot into my own personal style which is comfortable, basic colored tops and bottoms that I can mix and match to wear with my bright, funky, colorful, unique assortment of sneakers and heels!
