#MyKeds :: New and Not Taboo
Guest post by @JaneGoldenarms
As the wheels on the bus spin back-to-school season back around again, brands are rolling out their fall collections. And nothing sets the tone like a new pair of shoes. Female sneakerheads are no stranger to the giants of the culture - Nike, Reebok, adidas and the like. But having fun with other kicks like the oh so classic Keds is not taboo. I love the versatility the clean designs offer. As part of the #MyKeds campaign, we were sent two pair: the Champion Starburst ($50) and the Champion Pull Up Leather ($70).
The Champion Pull Up Leather
It won me over right away because as I wear them, they are going to break in and wear out into a chic vintage afterglow. The ribbon laces against the light leather are feminine and flirty. I like these with joggers - especially if you go unconventional and wear them with a chiffon blouse.
Champion Starburst
The playful pattern is great to add pop to the simplicity of an everyday outfit like t-shirt dress or monochromatic romper. Canvas denim with little white stars give it that extra wink for casual Friday.
Here are some of my other favorite Keds picks for the fall. What brands are you making room for in your closet this fall?
The Pointer:
One of my favorite trends of the moment is a pointy flat and Keds has taken that a step further by giving the canvas kicks a pointed toe, too. The Keds x Kate Spade New York Pointer is a sexy beast. ($75-$80). All you need is your favorite shirtdress and shoulder bag to make this look complete.
The Boyfriend Leather:
It's an oxford upgrade for the Champion Pull Up Leather, really. I love this preppy yet cool take on an iconic silhouette. The soft leather, the velvet laces and the fun colors (that brown and yellow with the polkadot insole? Yes, please) - I'll pay $80, easy. Add a high-waist jean, a v-neck tee and a blazer and you're set.
Keds x Kate Spade New York Champion Cork
I love them and I hate them - that's what makes them so interesting. The cork upper and that patent leather toe box make for strange but cute bedfellows. I like the foxing stripe and immediately imagine wearing these with a pair of denim short overalls. Life's meant for fun and these say it all. ($75).
