NWM12 Sky High Dunk Wedge
This Sunday, October 14, 2012, finally marks that special day, the San Francisco Nike Women's Marathon! The Nike Women’s Marathon began in 2004 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Joan Benoit Samuelson’s historic gold-medal in the first women’s marathon at the 1984 Games in Los Angeles. Since its inception, this one-of-a-kind women’s marathon has brought together more than 120,000 women and become one of the biggest philanthropic race contributors. Through a partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and its Team In Training program, the marathon raises money to benefit blood cancer research and patient services.
I'm so honored to be apart of this inspirational and life-changing experience. The cherry on top of this great cause is the exclusive kicks. These very limited edition kicks were created in honor of the Nike Women's Marathon that will take place this weekend and change the lives of more than 25 thousand women. The shoe features a zebra-like silver sheen body and swoosh on white leather. The laces are velveteen baby blue with a silver Nike lace lock, and an extra pair of regular white laces are provided. Of course, the hidden wedge and extra boost of confidence are included as well, ha!
In addition to the marathon itself, Nike will be hosting a series of activities throughout the weekend, including their Expo, which will offer a range runners’ services including footwear trials, Nike Training Club workouts, a head-to-toe stylist experience, Neutrogena Skincare consultations, Paul Mitchell hair styling, and much more. Nike athletes Allyson Felix, Kara Goucher, and Shalane Flanagan will join Joan Benoit Samuelson to inspire female runners throughout the weekend. See more info on the NWM facebook page.
